Dumfries (July 2007)

This time we went for 7 nights.  Simon, Emma, Harry, Gregor, Brain and June (and Eric the dog) were in one cottage, and we had another cottage with Nana, Grandad (for one night only), Rory and Rebecca.

The kids were in the pool at least once every day and the adults took it in turns to go in with them.  As usual, Simon and Brian got carried away with the bombs and soaked everyone whether they were in the pool or not.Watch out - the Knight's coming!

The weather wasn't great, but it was dry each day long enough to get some decent activities in.

We went to Threave Castle which is on an Island in the River Dee.  Calum bought a lance and was a Knight from there on in!Ring the bell for the Ferryman to come for you.     On the boat to the castle

Simon and Emma found this great park that had crazy golf, so we went there one day.  Calum liked the ride on tractor toys and Sinead found bumper boats which were great fun.And the winner is.....  Someone should tell him the ball is to stay on the ground!   Bumper Boats!

We went to a pottery place where the kids got to paint their own thing.  Sinead chose a Cow bank which she painted lots of colours, and Calum chose a Herbie car bank which he painted pink (I'm getting a bit concerned about his liking for pink!).

It was a great break and I think all the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Happy Kids!
